I was just informed by Warren Drummond, that former Better Bodies employee Herb Kerr lost his battle with cancer a few weeks ago. Warren said that Herb passed peacefully. Herb was a trainer at the 19st location. The word that comes to mind when reflecting on Herb was “gentle”, Herb was a gentle-man. You might recall that Herb was very accomplished in the art of Capoeira. For many of us, that was the first time we had ever heard that word before. RIP Herb.

Herb was a great guy. I marveled at his feats as a martial artists, as I have studied myself but he was about 50 levels above me!!! I remember him holding on the the side of a vertical ladder on an apparatus at Better Bodies, and then doing a “flag pole” by shooting his legs out and just staying there barely moving at 90 degrees. My mouth was open.
But, the thing about Herb was that he was to his CORE, a sweet guy.. I remember after Brandon Lee’s death how we both admitted crying when we got the news. I got the news of Herb’s passing through a close mutual friend, Jeff Ward.
Herb was worth crying for.
